Innovative Programme
WGCE starts the session with Induction Meeting on 1st week of August, followed by the Ice Breaking and Brain Storming session. Every student’s teacher trainees are breaking the intimation through this session. WGCE organizes workshop on various relevant subjects like Action Research, Micro Teaching, Psychological Test, Intelligence Test, Question Paper Analysis, Blue Print Preparation. WGCE invites various resource persons to deliberate the topics. Among them Dr. Rohini Nath Bhattachacharyee, Ex Princinal, Dimapur Govt. B.Ed College, Dr. Dilip Barua and Dr. Indrani Barua, Dr. Nilima Deka, Dr. Mahendra Kar, Mrs. Geeta Rani Sarma enthralled the students teacher trainees with their technical views.
WGCE organizes field trips every year to expose the students’ capacity such as leadership, sharing, budgeting, distributing, organizing the trip. It is a gallant day for Students teacher trainees when WGCE organizes painting and photo exhibition among them. Curve Painting, Warli painting, water painting, fabric painting are done by the students every year. Photo exhibition are held among the Houses on various current issues like Save Environment, Global warming, Save Acqua Life etc. Houses of the students trainees prepare Logo with message to express their potentialities. A panel Discussion are held during the Film Festival held in the college by the forum for better understanding of the films to improve the skill of speaking, thinking, expression.
In the present day, innovative programmes occupies a significant place in the Teacher Education Programme. The NPE, 1986 has emphasised innovative programme for the general development of education sector. As such, WGCE has put on due priority in the following areas –

Orientation Programme
It is a compulsory activity in which sports, literary, fine arts, music, dance, debating, recitation, essay competition, cooking, etc. are organized. This is a cocurricular programme, an important part of quality development among the teacher trainees. The student teachers through this programme find scope and a platform to manifest their talents and individual caliber.
Outreach Programme
a) Celebration of Children’s Day Programme on 14th November, 2013 at Adarsha Hindi High School under Gauhati University, in Gauhati University campus.
b) Field Trip to Suklai, Baksa District
A one day field trip was organized by the college as a co curricular activity on 14th February, 2014 to Suklai Gyanjyoti Prakalpa. As the programme was set we started for our destination at 8 am in the morning. Our bus set off from Maligaon Chariali. Our destination was situated at 3 hours distance from here. All the teachers along with our Principal mam co operated very nicely. After a long 3 hours journey we reached our destination.
Suklai Gyanjyoti Prakalpa is situated at the remote location of Suklai. It is mainly a remote rural area. Modern facilities have not yet reached there. Electricity is hardly there, road is not good and the surrounding is mainly forest. When we reached there we were welcomed heartily by the members of the Suklai Gyanjyoti Prakalpa.
Suklai Gyanjyoti Prakalpa is a school set up by some noblemen DR RAMANI BARMAN Sir of G. U It came into action from October 2013 , ourPrincipal Mam is also a part of it who is trying to help the project within her limitations. T he project member arrangedfor some refreshments .After that the main programme was started by the elected President of the meeting DR RAMANI BARMAN Sir.It was a general meeting for the project . There we came to know that the main vision of the project is to make development of the area through the development of the school which is dreaming to become a college within next twenty years . though the school started with only 18 students but hopes to have more one day . There is two sections in the school -Ankur and Mukul . All the members of the project are very hard working and they hope to have a bright future ahead . then the students of the school presentd a group recitation programme, singing, individual recitation etc. Some imp decision were taken in the meeting .Our Principal Mam donated some sports equipmqnts to the students to the students . Then there was a interaction session with students. I n this way the meeting came to an end
Then we had our lunch organized by the project members. After that we started for Bogamati and got some refreshments there again. Finally we started for our return journey. Though the journey was tiresome yet the spirit remains. The trip proved to be a successful one.
